It should be very normal that the production is promoted towards automation. Although more and more production facilities being supplied by small and medium sized manufacturers like Opton, there are still many subjects to be resolved for better usability.

1.Historical background leading to “What is Opton today”

During a half-century since its business start, Opton has launched many epoch-making achievements. The CNC pipe bender, that was the first-ever in the market and ’77 Invention of-the-year-awarded under strong development leadership by the business founder and the NC professional T.Yogo, had surely destined the company’s direction towards engineering pioneer. Since then the company has conducted wide and deep engineering R&D including those of 3D optical profiling technologies being established for 3D profiling of a machined work piece.

The newly theoretical hydraulic power control DDV servo pump has also been invented amidst the company’s challenge against large heat generation, noise, oil leakage and instable performance that had been serious weak points intrinsic to the throttle-valve type hydraulic system in spite of their years-long and world-standard class application for large-sized machinery. The invention has successfully proved itself as the total solution to all large-sized bending machines.

Opton R&D has gone on towards new technology that enables expansion or propagation of mid section of a pipe. And the company has reached to a remarkable finding where high-pressurized hydraulic fluid can create high-rated expansion of a work piece if the pressure is controlled by delicate pulsation technique where DDV plays essential works. Hammering-impact Hydroformer is another big achievement resulted by Opton R&D.
